Ministry of Sound opened in 1991 in a disused bus garage in South London, pioneering the UK’s first 24-hour nightclub with no alcohol and a sound system that shook the walls. Since then, we grew into the world’s largest independent record company (now part of Sony), and have staged unforgettable dance events — including one for 50,000 people at the O2 to mark the Millennium.
In 2018, we opened The Ministry — a 50,000 sq. ft members’ workspace in SE1, complete with a gym, studio, deli, and a jam-packed cultural events programme. We also host and produce events for both our members and external clients in our dedicated conference space.
Alongside sits Ministry Venues, a leading venue hire and events company offering a collection of remarkable spaces across two London sites. From large-scale conferences and brand activations to product launches and even weddings, we’re backed by an expert in-house team delivering seamless experiences for clients who want their events to stand out.
As a group, we’re serious about quality, obsessed with detail, and always pushing to improve — but we never take ourselves too seriously. We laugh a lot, work hard, and do things differently.
